Welcome back to campus! Thank you for joining the Department of Technology for our 82nd Annual Technology Fall Conference. We have all been through a lot since we last gathered together in person.
In the fall of 2020, we welcomed Assistant Professor Karin Dykeman (BS’91, MS’98, CAS’19) to the department faculty. Ms. Dykeman comes to us after 25 years of service with Liverpool Central School District. Her background includes teaching technology education, training as an elementary educator and school building leader, and leadership in technology education at the state level. Ms. Dykeman is teaching the professional education sequence and the technical writing courses for the department.
This fall we welcomed Visiting Assistant Professor Linda Paris (BS’10, MS’11) as our most recent addition to the faculty. Ms. Paris comes to us after 3 years of service with Lyons Central School District. Her background includes teaching as an adjunct in the Art Department and in the Department of Technology. Ms. Paris also worked for the Facilities Services Office as a Planning Coordinator and in the Art Department as the Studio Technician. Ms. Paris is teaching courses in Energy & Power and Design.
We have just opened the search for an additional faculty member. The ad is posted on SUNY Oswego’s employment page. Please consider applying.
The Department faculty would like to recognize Dr. Mark Hardy for his 10 years of service as Chair. His dedication, leadership and willingness to serve have been tireless and we are truly grateful for his commitment to the Department and the profession. Dr. Hardy has not left us, he has returned to his full-time laboratory teaching load.
It cannot be said enough that YOU are our connection to the next generation of teachers. Our graduates are highly sought after in New York State and across the nation. In order to keep our profession strong we need you to encourage your students to visit SUNY Oswego and to consider a degree in Technology Education or Technology Management. We all need to help inspire more people to join our profession. Let us know how we can connect in person or virtually with you and your students to explore the opportunities that SUNY Oswego has to offer.
Please enjoy the marvelous conference we have planned for you! We appreciate your attendance.
Mr. Richard Bush
Chair, Department of Technology
